Choc Coconut Protein Bites

The reason I love these “Choc Coconut Protein Bites” is there is no baking required, they only take a few ingredients, they are portable and they taste like a desert. Protein is the building blocks to recovery and growth so it’s a must to get our required protein intake throughout the day. It’s sometimes just not achievable to be cooking 5 meals of chicken or fish throughout the day so we need to come up with some easy quick go to snacks that are easy to prepare, high in protein, great tasting but low in saturated fat and sugar. This is a great quick fix guilt free treat that’s easy to prepare. Nut butter acts as the binder as well as the major source of protein in this recipe while the oats and cacao chips give its cookie like quality while adding both fiber and antioxidants.

  • 1 ½ tablespoon nut butter
  • 3 tablespoon oats
  • 1 x scoop of chocolate or coconut protein powder
  • ¼ cup desiccated coconut
  • ½ tablespoon of honey
  • ½ tablespoon of cacao chips

Mix all the ingredients if required add a small teaspoon of water to get a sticky consistency. Once combined roll into balls and roll in coconut. Set in fridge or freezer.
